Akhil Nimmagadda is an Indian Techie and Sociopreneur. He is best known for his Social activism and United Nations SDG campaigns.
Akhil born in a farmer's family in Mothadaka village near to the famous heritage town Amaravathi, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is the youngest son of Sri. Hanumantha Rao and Smt. Vara Lakshmi. His grandfather Late Sri. Pedda Subbarao was a well-known leader in Tadikonda Constituency.
He finished his schooling in his village and High-schooling in nearby village 14th mile.
He used to go to farm fields along with his parents. "It was a special experience for me to observe and learn our traditional farming methods. I still remember the days, how we struggled to save our red chilies and cotton from various pests and bad weather, and yet by the end of the crop year, we left in debt because of the low market price. There is a huge gap between farmer and consumer, which needs to get addressed" Akhil added.
At the age of 14, he witnessed the death of his close relative due to pesticide poisoning; this one incident has changed his life and motivated him to move towards awareness campaigns. By seeing his father and fellow farmer's struggles, Akhil firmly committed to making their life better in whatever the possible way.
With the determination towards the social service, he joined in National Cadet Corps (It is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens). During his NCC days, Akhil completed various Annual training (CATC) camps located in Ongole and Duggirala, including Adventure and Rifle Trainings.
He is one among few Cadets who have secured A grade during the Annual Exam. Later he joined in National Service Scheme (Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India) and involved in various Awareness camps on Blood donation in Rural Areas of Andhra Pradesh.
Akhil pursued his undergrad from R.V.R&J.C College of Engineering, Guntur, in Computer Science. During his college days, Akhil is one of the organizers in conducting various inter and intra college tech festivals and multiple photography competitions and workshops.
Akhil started his career with the teaching profession and worked as Asst. Professor. Later joined a multinational IT company in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. During this time he joined hands with Govt. of AP as a Smart Village development partner and has shared his ideas and views for rural development.
Later after a couple of years, Akhil pursued his Masters from Bradley University, Illinois, the USA with Advance Web Technologies Major in Computer Science. He served as a Member of the Student Advisory board to the Indian Students Association (ISA) during that time.
After the post-grad, with a team of four people, Akhil co-founded CleverFox (see more at https://www.f6s.com/akhilnimmagadda ), an engaging project for the kids to avoid inactive time with phones which were received high applauds. He lead many projects as a Lead Technology Consultant in Advanced Web Tech for various multinational companies and IT firms. Currently, He is with Capgemini America Inc.
Akhil represented India thrice as the 'Youth Delegate' at the Youth Assembly and received an invitation of 8th UN ECOSOC Youth Forum from the President Inga Rhonda King, in New York. Also, he is a strong advocate who promotes Youth action towards the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. He started two social campaigns #TeamAgriSoldiers and #TeamSocialSoldiers.
He also partnered with MyGreenVillage.org initiative for his village transformation with activities like planting trees, opening a free digital library, and cleanup drives.
